The word Chiropactic is derived from the Greek, meaning "treatment by hand". As a science, Chiropractic concerns itself with the relationship between structure, primarily the spine, and function, primarily the nervous system. As a health professional, it offers a conservative, drugless and non invasive approach to the restoration and maintenance of health.
Training to become a Doctor of Chiropractic requires a minimum of an undergraduate degree, followed by a full time four year program at an accredited Chiropractic College.
There are currently 7000 practising Chiropractors in Canada.
